許多人最近都在買椰子油來替代一般油

坦白說這麼貴的原料是要看人買

店員可能看我穿的也不怎麼樣
態度就是愛理不理

我問他小姐請問有沒有賣椰子油

她看了我一下.
然後用你可能不會買的語氣回我 有
然後繼續打她的電腦

她可能看到我一直瞧店裡的其他東西沒走
才不耐煩的說一桶XXX元你要買嗎

我說好--- 

心想因為這是我找到有賣的第一家 
當然要買ㄚ ( 我是這麼想的買給你看啦怎樣)

坦白說這家店的老闆跟老闆娘我都熟 算是老鄰居
只可惜不在店內

現在的店員狗眼看人低的一堆
總是會用服裝來認定人的價值

我所認識的有錢人都故意穿得很平凡
也不穿金戴銀
他們可以捧著現金買千萬豪宅
卻也常被白目的小店員使白眼---

孩子順手牽羊 別急著打罵

在我服務的矯正機關裡,常有兒童與青少年被法官裁定留置觀察,最普遍的罪名就是竊盜。每當訪視晤談時,父母親對孩子的犯行大多表示訝異與不解,納悶他們平時看起來還算乖巧,怎麼會做出這樣的糊塗事來。望著家長沮喪、悲傷的神情,我也只能好言安撫。

動機複雜 先搞清楚
其實孩子會去偷東西,背後的動機複雜,若依年齡層來劃分,緣由大致如下:

1.學齡前階段:單純只是喜歡,想要據為己有,尚未建立所有權與價值的觀念,不知拿走他人的物品需得到對方的同意,或者是要先付錢購買。

2.學齡階段:雖然透過學校、家庭教育知道要先問過人家或給錢才行,但在自我控制能力仍不足的情況下,遭遇誘惑時仍易因衝動而下手行竊。

3.青少年階段:明白偷竊是不被允許,卻因追求刺激或被朋友慫恿,抱存僥倖心態去嘗試。部分則是生活覺得有壓力,以此宣洩情緒或喚起家人的注意。

溝通輔導 取代體罰
另外,部分孩子受到外界環境影響,本身崇尚名牌或物質欲強,但無力負擔相關費用,為了滿足需求才鋌而走險,比方說偷手機、電玩或機、腳踏車等。近來也發現,因沉迷網路線上遊戲或濫用藥物成癮,而竊取財物支應開銷者,有增加趨勢。

一旦得知孩子偷東西時,惱怒在所難免,但當下要做好情緒管理,避免動手動腳,盡量以溝通、討論與輔導的方式來取代體罰,以免彼此關係惡化,又衍生其他行為的偏差。

機會教育 及時關懷
在處理上,要明確告知偷竊是不應該與違法的舉動,任意拿走別人財物會造成對方的損失與困擾,而父母也會感到難過。引領其設身處地為受害者著想,體會遭竊可能的心情,鼓勵其當面認錯,說明行竊動機,在物歸原主的同時,也保證不會再犯,藉以獲得寬容與諒解。

例如,當孩子是偷拿商店的飾品或同學家的玩具,家長可以善用機會教育,除立即給予告誡,說明嚴重性外,也要教導如何向物主道歉,並陪伴去親自歸還,或商議賠償事宜,而代墊的錢則請其以幫忙做家事、扣零用金的方式折抵,使其能從過程中記取教訓,往後懂得潔身自愛。

所謂:「冰凍三尺,非一日之寒」,孩子的偷竊行為往往是生理、心理或人際關係問題的表徵,家長應付出更多的耐心與關懷,深入探討癥結所在,並及時給予疏通、排解,必要時尋求心理衛生專業(如精神科醫師、臨床心理師、社工師等)的協助,平日也要提高警覺,如此方能降低故態復萌的風險。

萬聖節的由來

在美國每年的十月三十一日晚上,許多人都會慶祝萬聖節。在慶祝的派對中,大家都費盡心思準備化粧和服裝;小朋友也會在當天早上化好粧,穿上各式造型服裝到學校,學校會為小朋友準備小朋友的萬聖節派對;到了晚上小朋友再挨家挨戶去玩-『不給糖就搗蛋』的遊戲。熱鬧的節日氣息讓萬聖節成了一個最歡樂的鬼節。

不過傳說中最早的萬聖節,可就帶點陰森森的氣氛哦!十一月一日是所謂的『萬聖節』 (All Saints Day) 。西元前五世紀愛爾蘭的凱爾特人,他們的新年是在每年夏季結束的時候,就是十月三十一日那天。凱爾特人認為在新舊年交接時刻的夜晚,也就是十月三十一日的夜晚,看不見的靈魂會在陽世中穿梭,找到替身後得以重生;因此活著的人為了躲避靈魂的搜索,就在這天晚上把家裡的爐火滅了,營造出一個寒冷陰森的環境,並且打扮成鬼怪的模樣,口中發出可怕的聲音,企圖嚇走靈魂也讓靈魂分不清誰是活人,因而不能夠找到替身;只要過了這個晚上,第二天就是萬聖節,一切也就回復平靜了。

萬聖節的裝飾多以橘色和黑色為主,這兩個顏色也是傳統的萬聖節裝飾代表顏色。黑色的代表像是黑貓、蜘蛛和巫婆,和橘色的代表南瓜燈 (Jack-O'-Lantern) ,都是常見的萬聖節象徵,除此之外還有各式面目猙獰的鬼怪和骷髏等等。不過小朋友和大人的萬聖節服裝,除了這些較為可怕的形象之外,也還有很多其他的選擇,可以選擇打扮成美麗的模樣,也可以打扮成外星人的模樣,總之每年到了萬聖節前,就有很多人為了要打扮成什麼模樣而傷腦筋,此時商店就會陳列出許多服裝和化粧材料供顧客選擇。

商店在萬聖節前,除了陳列萬聖節服裝之外,在商店裡也可以看到成堆的大小南瓜,和各式節日特別包裝的糖果。每年秋天是南瓜收成的季節,因此南瓜在年底的節日中,可是重要的主角之一哦!萬聖節的南瓜燈要用到南瓜,感恩節和聖誕節餐桌上的南瓜派也少不了它,所以放眼所見到處都在賣南瓜呢!另外為了萬聖節所推出糖果,也會有不同的設計,多以黑色和橘色為包裝。許多人家會準備大量的糖果,等萬聖節夜晚時小朋友來敲門索糖,放在小朋友的提籃或袋子中。一般超市或糕餅舖,也會為了萬聖節推出應景的餅乾和蛋糕,一盒盒的橘色的南瓜外形餅乾,是大家在萬聖節派對中,最常選擇的應景點心之一。

萬聖節的習俗

面具化裝
在古時候,如果有旱災或是其它重大的災難,人們便會帶上醜陋的面具,因為他們害怕深夜還在外面遊走的惡靈,如果晚上 必須出門,便會戴上面具或用動物的皮毛裝飾自己,希望惡靈認不出他們來,或被醜陋的面具嚇走。後來敬畏鬼神的 宗教意味逐漸轉薄,慢慢開始有小孩穿上鬼和精靈的衣服,出去嚇鄰居(不給糖,就搗蛋),要大人請吃糖果的趣味習俗。

南瓜燈
在萬聖節還有雕刻南瓜燈的習俗,這是一則趣味的愛爾蘭的民間傳說。
據說有一個名叫傑克的酒鬼,他有一天邀請惡靈來一起喝酒,但喝完後卻沒錢付帳,他就設計要惡靈變成六便士(six pennies)來付酒錢,可是Jack又沒拿它來付錢,反而用一條銀紙鎮住惡靈讓它出不來,惡靈苦苦哀求傑克放他出來並答應不來嚇他、騷擾他,於是傑克就它出來,到了第二年萬聖節,惡靈又與傑克達成協議,答應這一年不會來騷擾傑克,但沒過多久傑克就過世了,這是天堂拒絕收容他, 傑克只好到地獄報到,可是因為惡靈已經答應他這一年不騷擾他,所以也無法收容傑克,天堂地獄都去不得,傑克怎麼辦呢? 而且路實在是太黑了,傑克也找不出路離開,這時惡靈就丟給他一塊已經燒得通紅的煤炭讓他在黑暗的地獄中比較能看清楚路, 傑克將這小塊媒炭灰燼放在一個打了許多洞的菜頭當中,好讓它燒久一點。

根據這個傳說,後來愛爾蘭人就用菜頭來製作他們 所謂的"傑克燈籠"。但是當移民們到了美國之後,發現新大陸的南瓜比菜頭普遍,於是改為用南瓜雕刻成各種鬼臉 ,然後在裡面擺蠟燭了,這就是“南瓜燈”的由來。

家教的溝通-2親子關係的交談與回應

一般親子交談的習慣,我們有時候都會囉囉嗦嗦,或者大事化小事囉,或者責備囉,可是主要的目的,都是想要關愛,可是我們都沒有關愛到別人,因為常常要罵是愛,現在我們要去看一看,我們裡面的心情到底是什麼,我們把自己心情把握住的話,才能調整說話的方式,然後跟我們自己的家人孩子才可以靠近。

譬如說我們很多的時候都會大事化小事,主要就是在外面表達的不是一個事情,外面要表達的常常是在處理事情,而沒有打理內在的心情,我們從小可能就父母家人要求我們在外面要表現好,所以呢,要忘掉裡面的心情了,所以我們講一句話,或者做一件事情的時候,我拼命外面的事情做好,所謂外在取向,都是在處理事情,而裡面的心情都沒有處理,所以造成我們裡面心情,都是在關愛、不安、不放心。
譬如說小孩談戀愛我們心裡都會很緊張,唯恐他們將來人生走得不順利,所以我們就拼命的在那裡不可以,或者限制,可是裡面要講的是,媽媽很不放心,怕你們戀愛談壞了,將來終身受苦,可是我們都不講裡面這些心情,拼命在外面說,你阿,沒出息,這麼小就談戀愛,不搞清楚,一天到晚在那裡罵,在外面表達就是要處理,好像這件事情一定會把他弄砸,其實裡面是我很不安,很不放心,因為你人生只能夠結婚一次,你這樣子搞,把你的人生搞砸了,我會很不安,可是這些都沒有表達,都是在罵。

或者有些時候,小孩把事情搞壞了,那你就很急,很兇,兇完以後又沒有一個結果,沒有說要陪孩子一起去做,小孩不知道要怎麼做,你又拼命在那裡很兇的,你看我就知道你沒出息,那個沒出息講完以後,小孩聽了以後,心裡很不是滋味,後面沒有去處理,就是因為你沒有去打理裡面的心情,我罵你沒出息,重點是我在不放心阿,你要處理你的情緒,你就會有結果。

你這個脾氣一發,後面沒結果,就是所謂虎頭蛇尾,看到小孩做錯了就大罵,可是後面沒有說媽媽要來教你,爸爸要來帶你,這些都沒有了,所以我們要講的就是我們習慣性的都是在外面(表面)處理事情,表達出來的東西都是傷人。

例如當孩子不聽話的時候,會有一個反應是你書不念,將來要怎麼辦?外面是你看到他不讀書,裡面你的反應是不安、不放心,這個心裡面的反應,造成你要大聲、要兇,也就是裡面越是急,就越大聲......所以,我們需要改變,願意做一個新的父母,當在跟他講話或聽他說話的時候,能平心靜氣、沒有動怒,跟小孩的關係就會有所不同。



台南小吃故事--3 擔仔麵

擔仔麵是一種發源於臺灣臺南的小吃。

「擔仔」即臺語(閩南語)「挑肩擔」之意。

擔仔麵發源時間相傳為清末光緒年間,創始者為臺南的洪芋頭。臺南清明時節與夏季七至九月份時常有颱風侵擾,風雨交加導致不易出海捕魚,故漁家生計頓時艱困,因此稱颱風來襲頻繁、生計維持不易的月份為「小月」。

以捕魚為業的洪芋頭在無法出海捕魚時候,常於臺南市水仙宮廟前叫賣麵食以維持生計、度過小月,並自名「度小月擔仔麵」,書寫在攤前所吊的燈籠上。

擔仔麵曾出現在總統府的國宴和飛機餐點,還曾經是中共第十五次全國代表大會的指定餐點。

曾被臺南市民稱為「國寶」食物

度小月擔仔麵開設於1895年,現今在臺南地區有許多店家,老店集中於臺南市中正路上,這道麵食的主要成份為:麵條、米粉、豆芽菜、香菜、蝦仁、少許湯汁以及獨門肉臊。

擔仔麵通常略貴、量少(約僅成人兩口份量),是所謂「食巧不食飽」(臺灣俗諺:吃得精緻而不吃飽,臺語拼音:Tsia̍h khá m̄ tsia̍h pá)的點心而非正餐。

位在台南市西門路二段的洪芋頭擔仔麵,由創始人洪芋頭公創立西元1895年(清光緒21年),為台灣歷史傳統小吃代表,至今邁入走向國際化。

台南小吃故事--2 台南牛肉湯


台南牛肉湯    流行於臺南的小吃。

由於強調使用宰殺後不久的溫體牛肉而非冷凍肉品,因此在離牛墟(即牛市集)較遠的中、北部非常少。

臺南市善化區與鹽水區為目前臺灣主要的牛墟所在,使得臺南的牛肉湯特別普遍。

其作法是將溫體牛肉切成薄片,以牛大骨熬煮之清湯汆燙至五至七分熟,再搭配白飯或肉燥飯食用。

臺南地區之牛肉湯店大多是專賣店,並因牛隻宰殺多在清晨,店家許多約於凌晨五點後即開始營業,故也可作為早餐。

並兼售與有關牛肉其他菜肴,包括:牛肉切盤、薑絲炒牛心、青椒炒牛肉、牛雜湯、牛腩湯等。

台南小吃故事---1 起源與名店


台南小吃,指臺灣臺南市所具有的街頭飲食文化。

台南市是漢人最早在臺灣拓殖的城市之一。

台南自明朝中葉即陸續有仰賴海洋維生的漁民、船員甚至海盜倭寇在此定居,經歷過荷治、明鄭、清領及日治時期,1945年後回歸漢人統治,台南曾有一府二鹿三艋舺的美譽,近年來城市發展步調趨緩,加上社會型態轉變,人口外流嚴重,惟亦因禍得福,完整的保存了這近4百年來,不論是來自原鄉的漢人移民帶來的小吃或異文化統治傳入的異國料理,成了飲食文化的大熔爐。

台南著名的小吃不勝枚舉,而因為早期人士多半來自福建閩南、漳泉廈等地,故小吃亦多半與該地有著極深的淵源,真正奠基則是於明鄭王朝瓦解後,當時的御廚伙夫散入民間,這些人士為了謀生便將家鄉小吃、宮裡御膳端出來販賣,清領時期變化不大,直到日治時期日本人帶入咖啡、冰淇淋、吐司、巧克力、麵包…等和風洋食文化的觀念,而民國政府渡海來台後,帶入台灣外省人的眷村飲食一脈,像是台南市曾有著名的|水交社、二空眷村,眷村美食即是一絕。

這百多年一路發展下來,逐演變出多元化,具有在地特色的小吃,茲列舉其中較著名者有:擔仔麵、蝦捲、蚵捲、紅燒土魚羹、鱔魚意麵、棺材板、米糕、虱目魚料理、鹹粥、牛肉湯、蝦仁肉圓等。

過去的市集雖可能因為都市發展而消滅或沒落,但四散的攤販為了註明自己的來源出身,有些會在所賣的產品前加註來歷,如「石精臼海產粥」或「大菜市意麵」等。

台南市的小吃通常不會使用免洗餐具,而有些具有悠久店史的小吃店家,所使用的餐具上還會印刷著自己的店名。

2009年沙卡里巴面臨被迫拆除,新南國小和金城國中將遷移至該地建校。

台南小吃多是庶民料理,但近來亦開始精緻化,成為高級餐廳甚至國宴出現的菜色。
2009年11月美國華爾街日報推崇臺南市為「veritable food museum」(名副其實的食品博物館)。

傳統小吃
台南市的著名小吃除了種類眾多、物美價廉以外,通常聚集在具有歷史發展淵源及匯聚當地信仰的廟口廟埕、官方建築物、清領時期興建的城門附近及日治時期因衛生或都市計畫下遷徙集中的市集。

如赤崁樓、大天后宮、武廟、水仙宮永樂市場、東菜市、大菜市(現國華街商圈)、小西門、下大道(現保安路)、東門、安平、日治時期,因日本官方的都市計劃緣故,又多了廣安宮石樁臼、沙卡里巴(盛り場)兩個小吃群聚地,1984年石精臼攤販聚集地因廣安宮欲改建而遭到拆除,沙卡里巴因為多次大火及海安路地下街工程,而使得原有許多攤販分散其它各處營業。

硝酸鹽..硝酸鹽-食物的殺手嗎



(1)硝酸胺
是誘發胃癌的一級致癌物質,如:煙燻鹹魚、鹹肉、炭烤香腸、檳榔,其中以香煙中濃度特別高。
另外含亞硝酸鹽的食物,如:香腸、臘肉、培根、火腿、熱狗等,經高溫油炸、煎、烤即會產生大量的硝酸胺致癌物,若烹調方式改成蒸、煮就可減少很多致癌物的產生。

(2) 硝酸鹽
人體每天吃到體內的硝酸鹽,蔬菜約佔九成。
其中以光合作用的植物部位葉菜類含量最多,因為吸收土壤中之氮肥所致。
腸道的細菌可能將蔬菜中硝酸鹽分解合成為亞硝酸鹽,而亞硝酸鹽被人體吸收後,會分解產生一氧化氮,並與血紅素作用形成變性血紅素,因而喪失其輸送氧氣的功能,導致細胞組織呈現缺氧狀態。

健康屋建議:
手心和臉色較黃的人不吃葉菜類蔬菜,如:蕃薯葉、空心菜(去葉可食)、油菜、黑甜仔菜、茼蒿菜、菠菜(去葉可食)、九層塔只當量調味、紅鳳菜、高麗菜芽、芥菜(去葉可食)等。

(3)亞硝酸鹽
亞硝酸鹽最後可能在胃腸道中,與含胺類食物合成胃致癌物—硝酸胺,含胺食物,如:鯖魚、鯷魚、章魚、蚵乾、蝦米乾、魷魚乾、干貝、鱈魚、秋刀魚、熟成的硬起司等,尤其是有長黴的起司含量更多。
結果會因人而異,其關鍵決定在腸道中的細菌,是有益菌或腐敗菌,對於一些因心藏無力、貧血、臉色手掌因缺血泛黃、或胃部迷走神經部份切除的病患,因胃酸分泌不夠酸,消化不良,使得合成亞硝胺細菌移居到胃部,就容易會有胃癌發生,建議多吃含維生素C的蔬菜及水果,也有抑制亞硝胺的合成。

回味20年前的台南



能看到20年前海安路的樣貌
真的要感謝 製作群的辛苦創作
那是台南人兒時的回憶
好懷念好溫馨

坦白說當時的人情味非常的濃郁
隔壁鄰居就像自己的家人一樣永遠互相照顧著

坦白說老台南還是會把搬走的海安路小吃一一挖出來
介紹給晚輩們知道
讓晚輩們也能知道什麼才是真正的台南美食
記憶中的美食集中在海安路的店還蠻多的

也難怪有很多的導演會把台南的美呈現出來介紹給外國人看

提高專注力、穩定情緒的妙招



定位聽析(Locational Processing)是藉著引導一個人的注意力離開身體的疼痛部位或他的問題點,並將他的注意力往外引導到所存在之環境當中。

假設,某人感覺不舒服或疼痛,但他說不清楚,也無法說明發生了什麼事,但就是覺得不舒服,這時就可以用定位援助法協助。
你將會發現,當其他的援助方法都失敗時,這個方法將會有效。 
定位援助法是一個非常容易提供的援助法,適用於特定的傷害或是當一個人病了或者是如果這個人有一個非常不明確的困難,執行定位援助法可以有效改善。


操作步驟:
1.  向需要協助的對象(大人或小孩均適用)說明你將進行定位援助法,並且簡短地解釋步驟。
如果是要對孩子操作,可以玩遊戲的方式進行。

2.  告訴他要使用的指令是什麼,並且確定他了解這個指令。例如:「看那棵樹。」或是請他找出「XX物品在哪裡」後指給你看。

3.  對方配合你的指令要求做完後,一定要回覆:謝謝、好,表示收到他已完成指令的訊息。

4.  持續進行,直到感覺對方狀況改善或主動表示已有領悟,則此時就可以結束援助法,並告訴他援助法結束。


應用時機-以下是我實際操作過的心得,真的有效
a-對注意力不集中的小孩,可每日操作;或在孩子做功課、念書或做任何需要專注力的事情前,均可先操作此方法。

b-小朋友難免有跌倒、生病、受傷、作惡夢、受到驚嚇或發生其他任何使情緒不佳的事件,均可適用。

Do you think it's possible to control someone's attention? Even more than that, what about predicting human behavior? I think those are interesting ideas, if you could. I mean, for me, that'd be the perfect superpower, actually kind of an evil way of approaching it. But for myself, in the past, I've spent the last twenty years studying human behavior from a rather unorthodox way: picking pockets.

When we think of misdirection, we think of something as looking off to the side, when actually it's often that things are right in front of us. They are the hardest things to see, the things that you look at every day that you're blinded to.

For example, how many of you still have your cell phones on you right now? Great. Double-check. Make sure you still have them on you. I was doing some shopping beforehand. Now you've looked at them probably a few times today, but I'm gonna ask you a question about them without looking at your cell phone directly yet. Can you remember the icon in the bottom right corner? Bring them out, check, and see how accurate you were. How'd you do? Show your hands. Did we get it?

With your eyes closed, what am I wearing? Make your best guess. What color is my shirt? What color is my tie? Now open your eyes. By showing hands, were you right?

It's interesting, isn't it? Some of us are a little bit more perceptive than others. It seems that way. But I have a different theory about that: that model of attention. They have fancy models of attention: Posner's trinity model of attention. For me, I like to think of it very simple, like a surveillance system. It's kind of like you have all these fancy sensors, and inside your brain there's a little security guard. For me, I like to call him Frank.

So, Frank is sitting at a desk. He's got all sorts of cool information in front of him, high-tech equipment. He's got cameras. He's got a little phone that he can pick up, listen through the ears: all these senses, all these perceptions. But attention is what steers your perceptions. It's what controls your reality. It's the gateway to the mind. If you don't attend to something, you can't be aware of it.

But ironically, you can attend to something without being aware of it. That's why there's the cocktail effect: When you're in a party, you're having conversations with someone, and yet you can recognize your name and you didn't even realize you were listening to that. Now, for my job, I have to play with techniques to exploit this, to play with your attention as a limited resource. So if I could control how you spend your attention, if I could maybe steal your attention through a distraction...

Now, instead of doing it like misdirection and throwing it off to the side, instead, what I choose to focus on is Frank: to be able to play with the Frank inside your head, your little security guard, and get you, instead of focusing on your external senses, just to go internal for a second.

So if I ask you to access a memory, like "What is that?" "What just happened?" "Do you have a wallet?" "Do you have an American Express in your wallet?" And when I do that, your Frank turns around. He accesses the file. He has to rewind the tape. And what's interesting is, he can't rewind the tape at the same time that he's trying to process new data.

Thank you very much. I'll cheat if you give me a chance. Make it harder for me. Just use your hand.

Hi, everybody. This is Misterduncan in England. How are you today? Are you ok? I hope so! Are you happy? I hope so! In this lesson, we will take a look at two common words, which have opposite meanings and many uses within the English language. Today we will look at "Good" and "Bad."

In English, just like any other language, we need to be able to express that which is positive, and that which is negative. The words "good" and "bad give us a very simple, but useful way of expressing these descriptions easily, but there are many other ways of showing what is "Good" or "OK" and what is "Bad" or "Not OK."

We can use "Good" or "Bad" to describe the way we feel. "How are you feeling today?" "I feel good." "I feel bad." Good and bad can be used to show "Enjoyment" or a "Dislike" toward something. "Did you enjoy the movie?" "Yes, it was good." "No, it was bad."

Of course we can use good and bad to describe a person and their character. "Thank you for your help. You are good." "That man stole my bike. He is bad." Let's look at some longer sentences using good and bad. "My boss gave me the morning off from work, so I went shopping. I had a really good morning." "I lost my wallet this morning, and then I was late for work. I had a really bad morning." "I went for lunch today with a good friend of mine, but the food at the restaurant was bad. I'm not going there again." "We had a good time today. Too bad we have to say goodbye." In the last sentence, "too bad" means "it is a pity," or "isn't that a shame?" "It's too bad!"

It would seem that there are many more uses for the word "Good" than "Bad," which is quite a good thing. Don't you agree?

Hey! Hey there! I'm talking to you! Hmm, rude bird. It is worth remembering that the words "Well" and "Good" cannot always be used as synonyms. For example, you cannot say: "He sang GOOD today." "She ran Good today." "They played Good today." In these sentences, you can only use "Well." However, when we look at it the other way round, "Well" can be used instead of "Good", when describing the way you feel. So saying that you feel "Well" or that you feel "Good" are both correct. This rule can cause a lot of confusion for some English students.

Finally, we can use "Good" and "Bad" as basic ways of expressing what is "Right" and "Wrong." "Good" is the opposite of "Evil" and "Wicked." In Religion, we often see the words "Good" and "Evil" used as opposites.

There is a saying in English that goes, "You must take the good with the bad," or "the rough with the smooth." This means that life is not always fair or easy. You must accept the unpleasant experiences and hard times for what they are. All experiences are a part of living, be they good or bad.

I think it's important to recognize that moms come in a lot of different shapes and sizes. Well, you know, my mother was the single most important influence in my life. I saw her struggles as a single mom. She taught me the values of hard work and responsibility, but also compassion and empathy, being able to look at the world through somebody else's eyes and stand in their shoes. She was somebody who recognized that those of us who have some talents, or have been given opportunities that we gotta give something back. And I'll always be indebted to her for that.

Frankly, if there hadn't been a glass ceiling, she probably could have taken over the bank.

That's why I signed the Lilly Ledbetter Act to make sure that people got an equal day's pay for an equal day's work. Because when we do that, that's not just good for women. That's good for our country. That's good for families everywhere.

One is something we take for granted while it is there, but miss it terribly when it has gone. The other is an activity that we are all encouraged to do, but few of us seem to have the time to carry out. In this lesson, we will take a look at "Health" and "Exercise."

When we talk about our health, we are actually describing two things. First, we refer to our Physical Health: the way our body is functioning; how well it is working; how all the different parts of your body are functioning. Then we refer to our Mental Health: how each of us feels emotionally; how we deal with all of the problems in our lives; how we see other people around us; how we cope with the effects of worry and stress. It would be fair to say that there is a connection between physical and mental health, and that they have the ability to affect each other.

If you feel tired after any sudden activity, such as getting up from the sofa and walking a short distance, or feeling out of breath after climbing a few stairs, then there is a good chance that you are out of shape. You are unfit. Your health is poor. You are unhealthy. Prolonged inactivity or situations where you are not moving around much, such as sitting in front of the television, driving a car, or working in an office may lead you becoming unfit.

The food you eat also decides how fit you are. Many of us eat far too much food containing fat and sugar, such as biscuits, burgers, cheese, chocolate and other types of so-called junk food. Over time you will gain weight and become obese. Your blood pressure will rise and your heart will be put under strain by all the extra body mass. You will find simple activities more exhausting. If your unhealthy lifestyle continues over a long period of time, you run the risk of suffering from diseases such as diabetes and your heart will become weak. Your chances of dying of a heart attack or stroke greatly increase if you are overweight.

There are many words connected to exercise, such as Aerobics: exercise that makes the heart beat fast through constant body movement. We call this cardiovascular exercise. Burn: this word is used to express the energy being used up during exercise. Recreation: a general word for any exercise or leisure activity. Keep-Fit: the act of taking exercise or following a course of exercise routines. Workout: a strenuous, tiring exercise session, focusing on certain parts of the body, such as the muscle in your arms, legs, chest, and abdomen.
有很多跟運動有關的字眼,例如「有氧運動」:藉由不斷的身體活動讓心臟快速跳動的運動。我們稱之為心血管運動。「燃燒」:這個字用來表達能量在運動中被消耗掉。「消遣」:一個用於任何運動或是休閒活動的通用生字。「體適能」:運動的行為或是遵行一系列的運動程序。「健身」:一種費力的、累人的運動訓練,專注在身體某些部分,像是你的手臂、胸口和腹部肌肉。

There are many types of exercise for the body to perform, and which one you do depend on how fit you are and what you are trying to achieve from the exercise. There is light exercise such as walking, stretching, or just generally moving about. If you do a job where you are always on the move, then you are not only working, you are keeping fit as well.
有很多種類的運動讓身體去做,而你該做哪個取決於你身體有多好以及你試著從該運動中達成些什麼。有輕度運動,像是走路、伸展,或只是一般的動來動去。如果你從事一種你總是在動來動去的工作,那麼你不只是在工作,你也在保持健康。

Then there is moderate exercise. A light jog or a fast walk will make you sweat a little, and it will provide a good session of exercise to make your heart work, and help your joints stay flexible and supple.

Then there is vigorous or strenuous exercise. This is what really breaks you into a sweat. For example, a long run will really make your body work, and you will be able to feel the effects of this exercise immediately. You can have a workout at a gym or health spa. Lifting heavy objects such as weights, do not only keep you fit, they also help you build up your body.

There are many simple exercises for keeping fit and healthy. The most popular ones include walking. Yes, just go for a walk. Walk to the end of your street, then around the corner, across the field, up the hill and back down again. Walk in a big circle, around the streets and along the roads. Keep on walking, until you arrive back home.

The way you take care of your health depends on many different factors. The things you put into your body, such as alcohol and cigarette smoke, have the ability to affect the way your body functions. Alcohol damages the brain and liver, while cigarettes cause damage to your lungs. The combination of both can lead to many forms of cancer. The phrase "smoke and drink yourself to death" is a very true one. Besides taking regular exercise, you must also ensure that you are getting enough rest. For example, by making sure that you are getting plenty of sleep each and every night, the sleeping process allows your body to unwind mentally, while at the same time, recharging you physically.

One! Two! Three! It's okay. I'm just exercising my word-power. Please yourself! Believe it or not, it is possible to exercise too much. You can do too much exercise. If you work out too often, or try to push your body too far, then you run the risk of causing damage to your muscles and joints. It is better to do a little over a short time, rather than a lot over a long time, especially if you are not used to taking exercise. Just one hour's exercise per day should be enough to keep you feeling fit. If you ever find yourself feeling any pain or dizziness during exercise, then you should stop. For most people, daily moderate exercise, with a once or twice a weekly workout will be sufficient. Remember! Overdoing exercise can be just as bad as not doing it enough.

There are many sporting activities that can give you a vigorous workout and help keep you fit, such as Badminton, Football, Squash, Tennis and Volleyball. Another great activity is Swimming, which is good for giving you a relaxing all-over body workout as you float in the water, without all that tiring muscle strain.
有很多運動活動可以給你強而有力的訓練並幫助你保持健康,像是羽毛球、足球、回力球、網球和排球。另一種很棒的活動是游泳,好處是當你漂在水上時,給你一段輕鬆愉快的全身鍛鍊,沒有所有那累人的肌肉壓迫。

There has never been a time when the issue of health has been such a hot topic. Our hectic lifestyle and the need for that magic quick fix from a burger or a bar of chocolate has led to an ever-growing proportion of us becoming unhealthy. Eating less and exercising more are both easier said than done. But just like anything, a habit can be changed or broken. With a little determination and will power, it is possible to change the way you live and keep in shape. Just an hour a day, for a walk around the block, or a couple of workout sessions per week at the local gym can help you stay as fit as a fiddle.
健康的議題從未成為如此熱門的話題過。我們忙亂的生活方式和對那魔法般快速搞定的漢堡或是巧克力棒的需求,導致我們變得不健康的人口比例持續成長。少吃多運動二者都是說的比做的簡單。但是就像任何事情一樣,習慣可以被改變或是被放棄。用一點點決心和意志力,是有可能改變你生活方式和保持好身材。只要一天一小時,街頭散步,或是每星期在當地健身房的一些健身訓練可以幫助你身體保持絕佳狀況。

That's better! Going out on a fine day for a spot of exercise is the best way to keep your body in good condition. Of course you don't always have to do something strenuous or tiring to stay fit. Taking a brisk thirty minute walk at least once a day is a great way to stay in shape. If the weather is not good, then you can walk up and down the stairs in your house a few times. The important thing is to work your body and tire it out a little.
那樣好多了!在好天氣出門找個地點運動是保持你身體好狀況的最佳方法。當然你不必總是做些費勁的或是累人的事情去保持健康。一天至少一次輕快的三十分鐘走路是保持身體健康很棒的方法。如果天氣不好,那麼你可以在你家裡爬上爬下樓梯幾次。重要的是動用你的身體並讓它感到一點點疲倦。

孝順與不孝順的故事


兩個故事很短,卻感動了很多人/作者:馬錫川

現在的社會講求功利,懂得人文親情孝敬父母的人不多了!

第一個故事
有這樣一個兒子名大款,母親老了,牙齒全壞掉了,於是他開車帶著母親去鑲牙,一進牙科診所,醫生開始推銷他們的假牙,可是母親卻要最便宜的那種。

醫生不甘就此罷休,他一邊看著大款兒子,一邊耐心的給他們比較好牙與差牙的本質不同。
令醫生非常失望的是,這個看是大款的兒子卻無動於衷,只顧着自己打電話抽雪茄,根本就不理會他。
醫生拗不過母親,同意了她的要求。

這時,母親顫顫悠悠地從口袋裏掏出一個布包,一層一層打開,拿出錢交了押金,一週後再準備來鑲牙。
兩人走後,診所裡的人就開始大罵這個大款兒子,說他衣冠楚楚,吸的是上等的雪茄,可卻不捨得花錢給母親鑲一副好牙。

正當他們義憤填膺時,不想大款兒子又回來了,他說:“醫生,麻煩您給我母親鑲最好的烤瓷牙,費用我來出,多少錢都無所謂。
不過您千萬不要告訴她實情,我母親是個非常節儉的人,我不想讓她不高興。

第二個故事
我上床的時候是晚上11點,窗戶外面下着小雪。
我縮到被子裡面,拿起鬧鐘,發現鬧鐘停了,我忘買電池了。天這麼冷,我不願意再起來。
我就給媽媽打了個長途電話:

“媽,我鬧鐘沒電池了,明天還要去公司開會,要趕早,你六點的時候給我個電話叫我起床吧。”媽媽在那頭的聲音有點啞,可能已經睡了,她說:“好,乖。”

電話響的時候我在做一個美夢,外面的天黑黑的。
媽媽在那邊說:小桔你快起床,今天要開會的。
我抬手看錶,才五點四十。
我不耐煩地叫起來,我不是叫你六點嗎?我還想多睡一會兒呢,被你攪了!
媽媽在那頭突然不說話了,我掛了電話。

起來梳洗好,出門。
天氣真冷啊,漫天的雪,天地間茫茫一片。
公車站台上我不停地跺着腳。
周圍黑漆漆的,我旁邊卻站着兩個白髮蒼蒼的老人。
我聽著老先生對老太太說:你看你一晚都沒有睡好,早幾個小時就開始催我了,現在等這麼久。

是啊,第一趟班車還要五分鐘才來呢。
終於車來了,我上車。
開車的是一位很年輕的小夥子,他等我上車之後就轟轟地把車開走了。
我說:喂,司機,下面還有兩位老人呢,天氣這麼冷,人家等了很久,你怎麼不等他們上車就開車?

那個小夥子很神氣地說:沒關係的,那是我爸爸媽媽!今天是我第一天開公交,他們來看我的!

我突然就哭了——我看到爸爸發來的短消息:女兒,媽媽說,是她不好,她一直沒有睡好,很早就醒了,擔心你會遲到。

忽然想起一句猶太人的諺語:
父親給兒子東西的時候,兒子笑了。  
兒子給父親東西的時候,父親哭了。

看過後,記得做一個孝順的子女。
這一輩子,能讓你欠太多的,而且不求回報的只有父母,不要抱怨父母的嘮叨…… 多多體諒他們、感恩他們、關心他們!
